Mother casts vote with infant at Jubilee Hills polling station
Listen to Story

HYDERABAD:Â A woman carrying her infant came to cast her vote at a polling station in Jubilee Hills on polling day.
A constable on duty offered to look after the baby so that the woman could enter the booth and vote comfortably.
The incident, witnessed by several voters, highlighted civic responsibility and inspired many at the station. Officials said such participation demonstrated that citizens viewed voting as a duty rather than a burden.
Observers noted that while some eligible voters avoided polling for trivial reasons, this woman’s determination underscored the importance of every single vote.
They said that choosing not to vote was equivalent to forfeiting one’s right to question the government.
