Man killed in Moosapet after being hit by private bus

Kukatpally: A man was killed after being struck by a private bus in Moosapet, Kukatpally, during the early hours of Monday, December 9, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as Ramesh, who was riding his two-wheeler when the accident occurred. According to the reports, Ramesh was traveling from Erragadda to Kukatpally, and as he reached Moosapet and attempted to make a turn, a private bus collided with his bike. He lost control and was run over by the bus’s rear tires, resulting in his death on the spot.

Witnesses to the incident immediately contacted the Kukatpally police, who arrived at the location and began their investigation. The body of the victim was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for an autopsy.

This tragic accident follows another fatal incident that occurred in Shahpur Nagar under the Jeedimetla police station limits on October 30, 2024. A private travel bus collided with a pedestrian, resulting in the death of Harikrishna, the sanitation supervisor in charge of GHMC’s 23rd circle. Harikrishna was crossing the road when the bus struck him, dragging him from Chowrasta to Sagar Hotel. Emergency services were alerted by locals, and the Jeedimetla police arrived at the crime scene. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.

In response to the incident, GHMC workers gathered near Sagar Hotel to protest, expressing their grief and demanding accountability.

In another incident, on the morning of Saturday, September 21, 2024, a woman named Raga Jyothi, 32, was killed after being struck and run over by a lorry while crossing the road in Medchal. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additionally, on September 18, 2024, Neeta, a woman returning home after dropping her children off at school, was tragically killed when a lorry loaded with gas cylinders struck her near the HMT gate in Nacharam. She sustained severe injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
