Monsoon regains momentum, widespread rain likely across Telangana
HYDERABAD: After a pause of nearly 10–12 days, monsoon activity is expected to strengthen significantly across Telangana, with weather observers indicating a sharp increase in rainfall intensity from Tuesday as active monsoon conditions return.
According to the latest weather update issued at 08.00 IST, scattered rainfall is expected over parts of Siddipet district, particularly Husnabad, along with Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mahabubabad districts during the next one to two hours.
Isolated rain is also likely in Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla and Kamareddy districts over the next two hours.
Weather observers said additional thunderstorm activity could develop across central and eastern Telangana by late morning, leading to further rain in several districts.
Mumbai records strong monsoon onset showers
The monsoon has also shown signs of strengthening along the west coast, with Mumbai receiving substantial onset rainfall on Monday.
Observers noted that the current spell marks a revival of the monsoon after a prolonged lull, with conditions expected to become more favourable for widespread rain in the coming days.
For Hyderabad, rain is expected during the evening or night hours if current weather patterns persist.
