Moinabad house burglary: Gold, cash worth ₹10 lakh stolen

HYDERABAD: Unidentified persons broke into a house and stole gold ornaments and cash in Moinabad.

According to police and local residents, the accused entered a house in Amdapur village of Moinabad mandal around midnight on March 26. They broke open a cupboard and stole 16 tolas of gold ornaments and ₹10 lakh in cash.

Family away when burglary took place

The house belongs to Kolla Srinivas, who had travelled to Goa three days earlier. His wife and children had gone to a relative’s house in Manchirevula in Gandipet mandal.

The burglary came to light when the family returned and found the main door lock broken. On entering the house, they noticed that valuables from the cupboard were missing.

Police collect evidence with forensic support

The victims alerted Moinabad police station. Police teams, along with a clues team and sniffer dogs, visited the spot and collected evidence. An investigation is underway.
