Mohan Babu’s Jalpally Home Robbed

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, popular Tollywood actor Mohan Babu’s residence in Jalpally was robbed on September 24, 2024. The accused, identified as a house help named Naik, allegedly stole Rs. 10 lakhs and fled the scene.

Upon discovering the theft, actor Mohan Babu promptly lodged a complaint with the Rachakonda Commissioner of Police. The police quickly initiated an investigation following the late-night incident.

In a swift response, authorities caught house help Naik in Tirupati. The Rachakonda police are continuing their investigation to recover the stolen property.

Mohan Babu is a popular Indian actor and film producer, primarily known for his contributions to Telugu cinema. An alumnus of the Madras Film Institute, he has acted in over 500 films, taking on a variety of roles ranging from lead to supporting characters.

Born to Manchu Narayanaswamy Naidu and Manchu Lakshmamma in Modhugulapalem village near Tirupati, Mohan Babu began his career as a physical education instructor at the YMCA College of Physical Education. During this time, he was introduced to Dasari Narayana Rao, who was then a scriptwriter in Telugu cinema. This encounter became a pivotal moment in his career.

Mohan Babu’s first major breakthrough came with the 1975 film Swargam Narakam, directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, where he was cast as a villain. Following this success, his birth name, Bakthavatsalam Naidu, was changed to Mohan Babu.

In October 2020, his film Son of India, directed by Diamond Ratnababu and produced by Vishnu Manchu, was launched and subsequently released in 2022. Although not officially announced, Mohan Babu indicated that his upcoming projects include a mythological film titled Ravana Brahma and a historical film Kannappa. The latter, produced in collaboration with Vishnu Manchu, was announced on August 18, 2023, with an impressive budget of 100 crores.

Following their attendance at the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga at Cannes 2024, Mohan Babu, along with his son Vishnu Manchu, daughter-in-law Viranica Manchu, Prabhu Deva, and the Kannappa team, presented a teaser of their film, garnering warm applause from the audience.
