Mohan Babu hospitalised in Gachibowli after media altercation; Manchu Vishnu responds
Hyderabad: Veteran actor and former Rajya Sabha member Dr. Manchu Mohan Babu was admitted to Continental Hospitals in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, on the night of December 10, 2024, following an altercation with media reporters. He was brought into the Emergency Department at 8:30 p.m. with complaints of diffuse body pains, anxiety, and a history of loss of consciousness.
A press release from Continental Hospitals provided an update on the actor’s health, stating, “Specialists in the Emergency Department immediately attended to Dr. Manchu Mohan Babu. Following a thorough examination, it was found that he had a blunt injury below his left eye. He also showed signs of high blood pressure, increased heart rate, and excessive fluctuations in heart rate. The necessary medical care was promptly administered.”
Currently, Dr. Mohan Babu is under the care of a team of specialists, including cardiologists, neurologists, and plastic surgeons. His condition is being closely monitored and observed.
Dr. Guru N. Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Continental Hospitals, stated, “Further updates will be provided if there is a significant change in Dr. Mohan Babu’s health.”
Meanwhile, Manchu Vishnu, actor and president of the Movie Artists Association (MAA), spoke to reporters on December 11, 2024, addressing the altercation involving his father.
He expressed regret over the incident, saying, “The attack on the TV reporter yesterday was really unfortunate. It was not intentional and not meant to hurt anyone. If you watch the visuals of the incident, Manoj along with reporters forcefully entered the house by opening the gate. My father, Mohan Babu, respectfully approached them, and after the reporter asked a question, the situation escalated in the heat of the moment. This was not intentional.”
Manchu Vishnu continued, “We are in touch with the injured reporter and his family. It is truly an unfortunate incident, and I wish it hadn’t happened.”
