Actor Mohan Babu apologises to TV9 team & journalist for recent altercation

Hyderabad: Veteran actor, filmmaker, and former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Manchu Mohan Babu, apologised on December 12, 2024, to the entire TV9 organisation, management, and Editor-in-Chief, following a recent incident.
In a statement of regret, Mohan Babu expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate events that unfolded, acknowledging the distress caused to both the TV9 team and the wider journalistic community. His letter read, “I am writing to formally address the unfortunate incident that occurred recently and to express my deep regret over the events that transpired. It pains me deeply that what began as a personal family dispute escalated into a larger situation, causing distress not only to the esteemed TV9 family but also to the wider journalist fraternity.”
Mohan Babu further explained that he had been unable to respond immediately due to health issues that required hospitalisation over the last 48 hours. “I appreciate your patience and am sending this letter at the earliest opportunity,” he said.
The actor recounted the chaotic situation, stating, “In the heat of the moment, when my gate was broken and approximately 30-50 individuals, comprising anti-social elements, forcibly barged into my house with the intent to harm those present, I lost my composure. Amidst this chaos, the media inadvertently became involved in the situation. As I tried to manage the circumstances, Ranjith, one of the journalists, unfortunately, sustained an injury.”
He expressed his regret for the outcome, saying, “This was a deeply regrettable outcome, and I deeply regret the pain and inconvenience caused to him, his family, and the TV9 community.”
Mohan Babu extended a heartfelt apology to Ranjith and the entire TV9 organisation, offering his sincere wishes for Ranjith’s speedy recovery.
