Indian Cricketer Mohammed Siraj denies dating rumours with Zanai Bhosle

Hyderabad: Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has denied rumours suggesting he is dating Bollywood singer Zanai Bhosle, granddaughter of legendary singer Asha Bhosle. The speculation started after a photo of Siraj attending Zanai’s 23rd birthday celebration in Bandra, Mumbai, went viral on social media. The image, shared by Zanai herself, led to widespread dating rumours.

Zanai addressed the rumours on Instagram, posting a story alongside Siraj’s photo with the caption, “Mere Pyaare bhai” (My dear brother). In response, Siraj took to social media to clarify the nature of their relationship. He shared a heartfelt message about Zanai, calling her “one in a thousand” and describing her as “like the moon among the stars.” He added, “There is no sister like my sister. I can’t live anywhere without her.” Siraj also included the song “A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay in his post.

The rumours had escalated after Siraj and Zanai were seen in a candid conversation during the birthday event. The cricketer, however, assured his followers that there is no truth to the dating speculation and highlighted their sibling-like bond.

In addition to these personal developments, Sirajโ€™s absence from the Indian squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy has been a topic of discussion. Despite his impressive performances in recent months, including 71 wickets in ODIs at an average of 22.97, Siraj was not selected for the series against England or the Champions Trophy. He has instead been included in the Ranji Trophy, where he will play for Hyderabad in their upcoming match against Vidarbha on January 30 in Nagpur.

The BCCIโ€™s new policy, which encourages Indian cricketers to participate in domestic cricket, has also seen other top players like Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill playing for their respective state teams in the ongoing tournament.
