Mohammad Azharuddin to take oath as Telangana minister on October 31

HYDERABAD: Congress working president and former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin is set to become the first minister from the Greater Hyderabad region in the current government. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has given its approval for his induction.
Swearing-in to be held at Raj Bhavan at 12.15 pm
According to sources, Azharuddin will take oath as minister at 12.15 pm on Friday at Raj Bhavan, where preparations are under way for the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have written to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), urging that permission not be granted for the Cabinet expansion. Election officials, however, clarified that they will first report the matter to the Election Commission of India before taking a decision.
Despite the BJP’s objection, the state government has reportedly informed the Governor about its decision to induct Azharuddin, and arrangements for the swearing-in are proceeding as scheduled.
