Mohammad Azharuddin assumes charge as Telangana Minister for Minority Welfare and Public Enterprises
HYDERABAD: Former Indian cricket captain and Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin on Monday assumed charge as Telangana Minister for Minority Welfare and Public Enterprises.
Azharuddin, who was recently inducted into the State Cabinet, took charge in Hyderabad and pledged to work towards the uplift of minority communities and improved governance in public enterprises.
Speaking after assuming office, Azharuddin said his priority would be to strengthen schemes aimed at educational and economic empowerment of minorities. He also emphasised transparency and efficiency in the functioning of state run enterprises.
Party leaders and supporters greeted him at the Secretariat and congratulated him on his new role.
