Residents seek opening of revamped Malkajgiri station too
Ahead of the proposed inauguration, residents have urged the railway ministry and South Central Railway (SCR) to include Malkajgiri railway station in the programme, as redevelopment work there has been completed.
The Train Travellers Association has also appealed to the railway administration to commission Malkajgiri station along with other stations redeveloped under the ABSS.
Passenger amenities upgraded under station redevelopment project
In September 2025, Union coal minister G Kishan Reddy had said that work on the Hitec City railway station was 80% complete.
The redevelopment includes facilities for passengers with disabilities and additional platform shelters. The station building and waiting hall were also part of the works nearing completion at the time.
