MLC Bye-election Race Heats Up: Teenmar Mallanna, Rakesh Reddy, and Premender Reddy Vie for Seat
HYDERABAD: The Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda is gearing up with MLC bye-election. For this election, The Indian National Congress nominated Chintapandu Naveen Kumar famously known as Teenmar Mallanna as their candidate. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi announced Anugula Rakesh Reddy as their candidate. And from Bharatiya Janata Party Gujjula Premender Reddy is coming up for this bye-elections.
The seat has became vacant after Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy of the BRS party resigned from his post, following his election to the Assembly from Jangaon. In which he won with a majority of 15783 votes against K Pratap Reddy of INC.
Anugula Rakesh Reddy
Rakesh Anugula was graduated from BITS Pilani, who entered into politics leaving his corporate life. He is the former BJP State Official Spokesperson in Telangana. He left BJP because of the denial of Assembly ticket from the party. Rakesh Reddy has expressed confidence in defeating Mallanna this time around. With expertise in finance and management, he has been engaged in youth politics, leading efforts in development projects and anti-corruption campaigns. Rakesh is recognized for his policy research support to the BJP, his editorial contributions in top newspapers, and his participation in televised panel discussions. His efforts are concentrated on crafting policies centered on the people and promoting economic and governance issues in Telangana.

Teenmar Mallanna
In the last election Teenmar Mallanna gave a tough fight to BRS candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy. Rajeshwar Reddy got 1,11,090 votes and Mallanna secured 83,520 votes in the first preference votes and emerged as nearest rival in the constituency. He contested independently in 2021 elections. After the establishment of Telangana, Teenmar Mallanna resigned from V6 News Channel and ran as a Congress Party candidate for the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal MLC seat in the 2015 Telangana Legislative Council elections, where he was unsuccessful. In the 2019 bye-election for the Huzurnagar Legislative Assembly constituency seat, he ran as an independent candidate and faced defeat.
Gujjula Premender Reddy
BJP has nominated Gujjula Premender Reddy as its candidate for the Telangana Legislative Council biennial elections in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ constituency. He serves as the General Secretary of the BJP in Telangana.
The election is scheduled for May 27, with the official notification issued on May 2. Candidate nominations were due by May 9, with scrutiny set for May 10 and the withdrawal deadline on May 13. Vote counting will take place on June 5. This bye-election holds significance for the participating political parties, serving as a litmus test for their influence and power in the area. Candidates are expected to engage in robust campaigning efforts to connect with the graduate electorate of the constituency.
