Miyapur conductor helps police seize 18 kg ganja

HYDERABAD: A private bus conductor helped Miyapur police seize 18 kg of ganja being transported in a private travels bus.
According to Miyapur Inspector Ramesh Naidu, six persons boarded a private bus bound for Shirdi from Miyapur Metro Station on the night of May 31. They were carrying a large luggage bag and planned to travel to Bidar.
Conductor alerts police after passengers flee
The conductor grew suspicious of the bag and questioned the passengers. The group immediately got off the bus, leaving the bag behind, and fled the spot.
The conductor took the luggage bag to Miyapur police station and handed it over to the police.
Police launch hunt for accused
During inspection, police found 18 kg of ganja in the bag. A case was registered and the contraband was seized.
Police said efforts are under way to trace the accused who escaped.
Kukatpally Deputy Commissioner of Police Rithiraj congratulated the conductor for his alertness and presented him with a reward.
