Miss World delegates to join heritage walk at Charminar and Laad Bazaar

Hyderabad: Over 120 Miss World 2025 delegates will take part in a Heritage Walk at Charminar and Laad Bazaar on May 13, 2025, bringing international attention to Hyderabad’s Old City. The event is part of the official Miss World schedule and aims to highlight the cultural and historical importance of these iconic sites.
Charminar, built in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, stands as a symbol of Hyderabad’s foundation and architectural legacy. The monument, with its four minarets and panoramic views of the Old City, has been proposed for UNESCO World Heritage status.
The Heritage Walk will be broadcast live in more than 150 countries. Delegates will interact with local artisans and explore traditional crafts in Laad Bazaar. The Telangana government hopes the event will boost tourism and promote the state’s heritage globally.
Laad Bazaar, a 400-year-old market established during the Nizam era, is known for its traditional lacquer bangles, pearl jewelry, Bidriware, calligraphy, perfumes, and Quranic manuscripts. The market is especially lively during festivals such as Eid and Ramadan.
The event aligns with the Telangana government’s efforts to promote the state as a global tourist destination by highlighting its cultural and historical sites through international events.
The state government has rolled out plans to enhance infrastructure and global visibility for sites like Charminar and Laad Bazaar, aiming to attract heritage enthusiasts and shoppers worldwide.
