Warangal, Ramappa Temple to feature in Miss World 2025 heritage tour

Hyderabad: The Telangana Tourism Department is preparing to host Miss World 2025 contestants for a special heritage tour that will spotlight the architectural and cultural legacy of the Kakatiya dynasty, including a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ramappa Temple.
Tourism Secretary Smita Sabharwal chaired a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat on Friday, April 11, 2025, to assess preparations for the upcoming Miss World festival in May and the heritage tour scheduled for May 14 in Warangal. The meeting focused on logistics, security, and curated cultural experiences aimed at presenting Telangana as a unique blend of history and hospitality.

The Kakatiya Heritage and Warangal Tour is being planned as a key event during the pageant, intended to highlight the state’s historic landmarks and promote tourism on a global platform.
Speaking at the meeting, Smita Sabharwal highlighted the need to present Telangana as a leading destination that combines tradition with modern infrastructure. The festival is expected to draw wide international attention, with contestants from 120 countries arriving in Hyderabad on May 6 and 7.
Key officials in attendance included Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director N. Prakash Reddy (IPS), Sangeet Natak Akademi Chairperson Alekhya Punjala, Director of Culture M. Harikrishna, Hanumakonda Collector Pravinya, Mulugu Collector, and representatives from the Miss World organization and local police.
Ahead of the heritage tour, a Heritage Walk at Charminar and a Welcome Dinner at the historic Chowmahalla Palace are scheduled. The dinner will host around 120 contestants along with 400 delegates, including photographers and international media personnel.
The evening program will include live music, Sufi and Qawwali performances, and a 20-minute cultural showcase of Telangana’s traditions. Guests will be served a curated menu featuring Nizam-era dishes and local Telangana cuisine.
Smita Sabharwal has directed officials to ensure all arrangements show the state’s tourism brand and cultural identity, aiming to leave a lasting impression on the global audience.
