Hyderabad: Duo arrested for robbing youth at knife point near Charminar

Chandanagar police Busts Prostitution Racket

Hyderabad: Two people were arrested by the Mirchowk police for robbing a youth at knife point on Sunday. The police have seized two bikes and a knife from them.

The accused duo has been identified as 19-year-old Syed Wajid Ali from Uppuguda and 19-year-old Shaik Arman Ali from Murghi Chowk near Charminar.

Earlier, Mohd Abdul Rawoof, who is working with a ride hailing application, had filed a complaint stating that the accused person had robbed him.

According to police, the complainant was going to his grandmother’s house in Shahalibanda with his friend on a two-wheeler. The arrested individuals approached them when he stopped by the roadside near Bibi Bazaar crossroad to answer a phone call. They then brandished a knife and forced them to hand over their mobile phones, cash and scooter and fled on their stolen vehicle.
After receiving a complaint, the police registered a case and nabbed the accused persons.

In another case, the Hyderabad Cybercrime police arrested a 41-year-old man Ramakrishna Reddy from Chennai after he was accused of defrauding people in the name of trading through his crypto currency exchange company called Bitcoin India Software Services Pvt. Ltd.

According to a complaint filed by a resident of Jubilee Hills, the accused Reddy duped him of Rs. 8.5 lakh in crypto currency fraud.

The complainant said that he purchased 2,56,416 units of Siacoin (SC) worth Rs. 8,49,585, through his digital trading platform which mimicked a legitimate trading platform through Bitcoin India Wallet and Exchange. Subsequently, Reddy’s firm suspended his trading account without specifying any reason and marked it as being under review. Later, when the victim got the access back to his account, he noticed that his balance and portfolio were erased. The account not only displayed zero funds but also showed an overdue status. After multiple attempts, the trading platform’s customer support informed that the funds were deducted as a ‘maintenance fee’.
