Metro to Medchal: MP Eatala Rajender seeks Union Minister’s support for Northern Corridor inclusion

Medchal: Eatala Rajender, Member of Parliament for Malkajgiri, has written to the Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, urging the inclusion of four proposed metro corridors in the ongoing Phase II expansion of the Hyderabad metro project.
In his letter, Eatala Rajender highlighted the need for metro connectivity to benefit the residents of northern Hyderabad, especially those in the Malkajgiri, Medchal, and Quthbullapur constituencies. He proposed the following corridors for consideration Paradise to Medchal; JBS to Shamirpet; Tarnaka to Keesara; and Boinpally to Balanagar Quthbullapur.
Rajender pointed out that his constituency, Malkajgiri, is the largest in India and is located in the northern part of the city. He highlighted that metro rail services are crucial for these densely populated areas, where residents face significant transportation challenges, particularly during peak hours. The current metro system terminates at Jubilee Bus Station, leaving these regions underserved.
Rajender requested that the extension of metro rail to the proposed corridors be prioritised for the convenience of the public and to address growing transportation needs.
Sampath Mamidi, founder of Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi, expressed gratitude to MP Eatala Rajender for his prompt action in submitting the representation to Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, urging the inclusion of four critical metro corridors.
On X (formerly Twitter), Sampath Mamidi wrote, “Thank you @Eatala_Rajender Garu MP Malkajgiri for the quick response and submitting the representation to @mlkhattar, Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, urging the inclusion of 4 critical metro corridors proposed by Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi.”
He further requested @revanth_anumula, @TelanganaCMO, @PrlsecyMAUD, and @MD_HMRL to expedite the submission of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to ensure justice for North Hyderabad, adding, “Let’s act swiftly to bring Metro connectivity to underserved areas of North Hyderabad!”

Over 30 lakh residents in the northern regions of Hyderabad, particularly in Medchal and Shamirpet, are demanding urgent action from the state government to include the North Corridor in the ongoing Hyderabad Metro Phase II expansion. The residents are questioning how long they will be left stranded without metro connectivity, which has become a critical need due to the region’s rapid urbanisation and growing population.
@revanth_anumula @PrlsecyMAUD“@DM_HMRl Suchitra, Hyderabad: This is the daily struggle of our kids risking their lives to commute. Overcrowded buses endanger their safety.
