Two men get three-day jail term in Mehdipatnam e-petty cases

Two men sentenced to three days in jail in Mehdipatnam e-petty cases by Hyderabad court

HYDERABAD: Two men were sentenced to three days’ imprisonment after a court convicted them in two e-petty cases registered by Mehdipatnam police station.

The XII Special Judicial Magistrate at Manoranjan Complex, Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, convicted the accused under Section 61(b) of the City Police Act (CP Act) and awarded three days’ jail.

The cases pertain to E-Petty Case No. 263510336 (STC No. 1429/2026) and E-Petty Case No. 263510330 (STC No. 1430/2026).

The accused were identified as Mohammed Faizan, 29, son of Mohd Sagir Alam, and Mohammad Sameer, 23, son of Mohd Iqbal Alam. Both are private employees and residents of Mallepally, Hyderabad.

According to police, on the intervening night of February 16 and 17, 2026, at about 22.30 IST, the two were found roaming suspiciously in Mehdipatnam with their faces covered. On questioning, they allegedly gave evasive replies.

Police brought them to the police station and registered two e-petty cases. After examining the evidence placed by Mehdipatnam police station, the magistrate held them guilty and sentenced them to three days in prison.

Inspector S. Mallesh of Mehdipatnam police station said the Hyderabad City Police would continue to act against public order violations in accordance with the law.
