Medipally police nab two in bag snatching case

HYDERABAD: The Medipally Police of Malkajgiri Commissionerate have detected a robbery case and arrested two persons for allegedly snatching three bags from a woman at Kranthi Colony on February 12, 2026.
The accused were identified as Battini Ravin, 21, a resident of Ramanthapur and native of Karimnagar, and Guntipally Raghu, 19, a resident of Ramanthapur and native of Yadagirigutta.
According to police, the complainant had closed her shop at 21.45 IST and was walking towards her house in Panchavati Colony carrying three bags. At Kranthi Colony, two unidentified persons allegedly snatched the bags containing a gold chain, a Redmi Note 10 mobile phone, ATM card, PAN card, Aadhaar card and cash, and fled on a two-wheeler.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Medipally police station under relevant sections of law.
Technical evidence led to arrests
Police formed special teams comprising personnel from the Commissioner’s Task Force (CCS-Uppal) and Medipally police station. The teams analysed CCTV footage, gathered local intelligence and examined technical evidence before apprehending the accused.
During the investigation, police seized two mobile phones used by the accused, two two-wheelers and the stolen PAN card, Aadhaar card, voter ID card and a leather bag.
The accused were produced before a court and further investigation is underway
