Worker dies after falling into crushing machine in Medchal

Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man died in a tragic workplace accident at Girampur in Medchal on Monday morning, April 14, 2025.
The victim, identified as Manish Singh, a native of Madhya Pradesh, was working as an operator of a robotic silicon crusher machine. According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 8 a.m. when Manish Singh accidentally slipped and fell into the machine. He died on the spot.
Co-workers who witnessed the incident rushed to help, but he had already succumbed to his injuries. The Medchal police have launched an investigation into the incident.
In a separate incident on Sunday, a 39-year-old doctor died in a lift accident at a residential apartment in Srikrishna Nagar under Suraram Police Station limits.
The deceased, identified as Akbar Patil, a Registered Medical Practitioner, was attempting to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the lift shaft. At the same time, the lift was activated, descending and fatally injuring him. He died on the spot from severe head injuries.
Police arrived at the scene and recovered the body. A case has been registered and further investigation is ongoing. Patil’s death marks the latest in a series of lift-related fatalities reported in recent months. On March 10, Gangaram, a 55-year-old commandant of the Telangana Special Police 17th Battalion, died after falling into an elevator shaft in Sircilla town.
Three days later, a four-year-old boy named Surender died in a similar accident at Mujtaba Apartments in Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad. He was the son of Sham Bahadur, a security guard at the complex.
In February, another child, six-year-old Arnav, died after getting caught between a lift and the support wall at a residential apartment in Masab Tank.
