Medchal student attempts suicide at Srinidhi College
MEDCHAL:Â A student attempted suicide by jumping from a college building at Srinidhi Engineering College in Medchal district on Thursday.
College authorities had reportedly called his parents after he failed to attend classes regularly. Upset over the development, the student, identified as Kalyan, jumped from the building on the campus, sources said.
He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. Doctors said his condition remains critical and he is under observation.
Attendance issue triggers incident
According to preliminary information, the college management contacted the parents regarding his irregular attendance. Soon after, the student is believed to have taken the extreme step.
Police from the concerned police station visited the college and began an inquiry. Statements are being recorded from college staff and students.
