Medchal-Malkajgiri District industries officer in ACB net
Kukatpally: Continuing its spree of traps, the Anti corruption Bureau(ACB) seems not to be slowing down anytime soon, as in its recent raid, caught the Assistant Director of District Industries Center, red handedly, while accepting a bribe on Monday. The tainted official demanded a bribe of Rs 45,000 to do an official favour.
According to the ACB Ranga Reddy Unit, the tainted official K. Venkata Narsi Reddy, Assistant Director, District Industries Center, Office of Integrated Collectorate office, Medchal-Malkajgiri District demanded a bribe amount of Rs 45,000 from the complainant Kethavath Ramesh from Kukatpally and went ahead and accepted the same from the victim.
Further in connection with this case, the law enforcement agency said, the complainant approached the accused officer K. Venkata Narsi Reddy to inspect the Tipper vehicle purchased at a price of Rs. 53,00,000 under the scheme of TSPRIDE (Telangana State Programme for Rapid Incubation of Dalit Entrepreneurs Incentive scheme) and to submit a report to the higher officials for sanctioning of incentive under the above scheme.
Bribe of Rs 45,000 recovered
However, the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 45,000 from the complainant to submit the report to higher officials. The bribe amount was recovered from the diary of the accused officer at his instance and the contact portion of the diary yielded positive in a chemical test.
“The Accused Officer thereby performed their public duty improperly and dishonestly ACB arrested the accused K. Venkata Narsi Reddy, and produced before the Ist Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally, Hyderabad,”said ACB in an official statement. Further investigation is underway
ACB requested the public to approach them if any government official demands a bribe through their toll free number of ACB, i.e. 1064. Further assured to take stringent action as per the law of land.
