Medchal Court Grants Three-Day Custody of Bandi Bhageerath

HYDERABAD: Police on Wednesday took Bandi Bhageerath into custody in connection with a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case after securing permission from the Medchal court.
Court allows only three days of questioning
Investigators had moved a petition seeking seven days of police custody to question Bhageerath. However, the court granted only three days of custody.
The Medchal court ordered that Bhageerath be handed over to police custody for three days to facilitate further inquiry into the case.
Investigators to gather case details
Bhageerath is currently lodged in jail as a remand prisoner after being arrested in the POCSO case. Police began questioning him on Wednesday morning and are expected to examine various aspects of the allegations as part of the ongoing investigation.
