HANUMAKONDA: Helicopter services will be available at Medaram from Wednesday as part of the Medaram tribal fair. Devotees can take joy rides offering an aerial view of the Medaram area, including the Elubaka stretch.

Joy rides launched by Seethakka

The joy ride services will be inaugurated by Seethakka. Officials said devotees arriving for the jatra can make use of the service from Wednesday.

Tariff details announced

The fare for a joy ride has been fixed at ₹5,000 per person. For helicopter travel from Hanumakonda to Medaram, the charge is ₹35,999 per person.

Officials said the helicopter joy rides were introduced to ease congestion during peak jatra days and to provide devotees with an alternative experience of the fair. Temporary booking counters have been set up near the jatra area to manage demand.

Security arrangements have been strengthened around the helipad, with police and revenue officials deployed to regulate crowd movement. Only limited passengers will be allowed per sortie to ensure safety and smooth operations.

Authorities said the service is subject to weather conditions and operational clearances. Devotees have been advised to follow instructions issued by ground staff while availing the facility.

With footfall expected to rise further in the coming days, officials said additional crowd-control measures were also being put in place across Medaram and surrounding routes.
