Maoist party slams surrenders, calls ex-leaders Ashanna and Mallojula traitors

HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India (Maoist) has released a four-page statement, signed by its spokesperson Abhay, criticising recent surrenders within the organisation and terming them “acts of betrayal.”
Calls surrendered members “traitors”, says people will decide their fate
According to the letter, the Maoist Central Committee accused members Mallojula Venugopal and Ashanna of turning “revolutionary traitors” by surrendering to security forces without consulting the party. “The people themselves will deliver suitable punishment to these betrayers,” the committee said.
The statement claimed that Mallojula’s ideological weakness had surfaced as early as 2018, when the party made a temporary tactical retreat. It added that during the 2020 Central Committee meeting, Mallojula’s “incorrect ideological stance” and arguments in favour of abandoning arms were exposed.
“The surrender of Mallojula without discussion with the Central Committee shows his degeneration,” the letter said, adding that those who act out of fear for life may surrender, but if they harm the party’s cause, “the people will teach them a lesson.”
The committee maintained that the latest surrenders would cause only a temporary setback to the party’s revolutionary movement.
