Mandaviya will open new ESIC block in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: A new outpatient department (OPD) block built to provide comprehensive services at the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Sanathnagar is ready for inauguration.
Union labour and employment minister Mansukh Mandaviya and minister of state Shobha Karandlaje will inaugurate the block on July 14. Six other ESI projects across the country will also be inaugurated virtually from Hyderabad.
The projects, worth about ₹ 668 crore, are expected to provide healthcare services to nearly 53 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
Sanathnagar hospital adds 225 beds in new block
ESIC built the Sanathnagar hospital on a 33-acre campus. The hospital currently has 1,044 beds and receives 2,000 to 3,000 workers seeking medical care every day. The campus also houses a medical college and a super-speciality hospital.
The new OPD block has a built-up area of 43,611 square metres. It will add 225 beds, including 180 general beds, 25 intensive care unit (ICU) beds and 20 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds.
New block offers outpatient and diagnostic services
The OPD block has departments of general medicine, ear, nose and throat (ENT), dentistry, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, psychiatry, dermatology, pulmonology, paediatrics, general surgery and AYUSH.
Physiotherapy, radiology and yoga services will also be available at the new block.
