Mansoorabad Trader’s Organ Donation Helps Six Patients

HYDERABAD: A small trader from Mansoorabad donated his organs after being declared brain-dead, helping six patients and restoring sight to two others.
Aluguri Sai Prasad, 54, a resident of Saptagiri Colony in Mansoorabad, slipped into an unconscious state at his home on May 20. Family members shifted him to a nearby hospital and later to another facility for advanced treatment. Despite medical care, his condition deteriorated and doctors declared him brain-dead.
Brain-dead donor gives hope to patients awaiting transplants
Following the diagnosis, the Telangana Jeevandan medical team counselled Sai Prasad’s wife Renuka and other family members on organ donation. The family agreed to donate his organs to patients in critical need.
Doctors retrieved both kidneys, the liver and one lung from the donor.

The organs were transplanted into patients registered with Jeevandan and awaiting transplants. In addition, doctors retrieved both corneas and transplanted them into visually impaired recipients.
Jeevandan Nodal Officer Prof. Sribhushan Raju said the donations helped multiple patients awaiting lifesaving treatment.
