Manikonda residents raise concerns over illegal parking on Road No. 13
MANIKONDA: Residents of Manikonda’s Alkapoor Township have raised concerns over the deteriorating conditions of Road No. 13, citing illegal parking, increased wrong-side driving, and problematic speed breakers.
Speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Kishore, a local resident, expressed his concerns, stating, “Road No. 13 in Alkapoor Township used to be a 100-foot-wide road a few years ago. However, a new commercial project called Ideal Investa, a five-storey building on this road, has significantly impacted the area. The road was reduced to 30 feet due to the construction of a park, but the development work has stalled, leaving the road in a deplorable state.”
He added, “The presence of commercial properties, including Blinkit, has further extended the problem. Large trucks visiting the warehouse often park on the road, obstructing traffic and forcing vehicles to drive on the wrong side. This is particularly dangerous for children walking in the area.”
Kishore has called for action from the Manikonda Municipal Corporation, urging them to address the parking issues and ensure proper road conditions. He also took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his concerns, posting, “@ManikondaMc Thanks for permitting Ideal Investa (a five-storey building with no parking). Road No. 13 Alkapoor Township, which was already reduced to 10 or 12 feet due to water works, is now congested with parked cars. TasteTea has also encroached onto the road.”
@ManikondaMc Thanks for giving permission to Ideal Investa ( a 5 story building with No parking). A 10 or 12 feet Road Nr 13 Alkapoor Township( where 1/10th of road already comsumed by water works) is full of cars parked on road. They came up with TasteTea almost on Road. pic.twitter.com/0riGWIsaKZ

In response to Kishore’s tweet, Bharat M L mentioned, “The Blinkit warehouse has laid a speed breaker there.”
Raja Vengala also commented, “It seems speed breakers can be installed without proper approvals. Manikonda Municipality, is this how you are addressing accident prevention? We already have potholes serving as speed breakers, so additional ones are causing health issues.”
Mana Manikonda’s admin had previously highlighted the issue on X, stating, “Kundan Nagar residents are upset about the construction of a mini park on a 100-foot road at Road No. 13 Hive Junction, Ward 9, in the name of median beautification, which seems to favor a construction company.”
Residents are urging the authorities to address these issues promptly to ensure the safety and convenience of all road users. The Manikonda Municipal Corporation has yet to respond to these concerns.
