Hyderabad: On March 21, 2025, the Telangana State Commissioner of Food Safetyโ€™s Task Force conducted inspections at multiple food establishments in Khairatabad.

At Mandi King Royale, officials found several violations. The FSSAI license was not prominently displayed, and critical records such as pest control logs, water analysis reports, employee health records, and FoSTaC certificates were missing.

Refrigerators were in poor condition, with broken shelves and unhygienic interiors. Water droplets from improperly defrosted items were falling onto uncovered food, risking contamination. The kitchen and wash areas had patchy flooring, food waste was littered in several places, and drains were clogged.

Additionally, chimneys were greasy, and rusty iron knives were found in use. Raw meat, including chicken and mutton, was improperly stored alongside other food items, increasing the risk of contamination.

At Mandi Town, located in Khairatabad, the inspection revealed similar issues. The FSSAI license was not prominently displayed, and necessary records such as pest control logs, water analysis reports, and FoSTaC certificates were absent.

The refrigerator was in a highly unsanitary condition, with spillage of meat waste and blood. The kitchen floor was patchy, and food waste was scattered throughout the area. A live cockroach infestation was observed, and the drinking water tank was found to be improperly cleaned, with dead insects inside.

Food items in the refrigerator were uncovered and unlabelled, and synthetic food colors were found and discarded. Raw meat was improperly stored, increasing contamination risks.

At Mandi 36 Arabian Kitchen, located in Banjara Hills, food safety officials found that food handlers were not FoSTaC trained. The kitchen had patchy flooring and dark, sooty ceilings. Chimneys were greasy and dusty, and exhausts were not fitted with mesh to prevent insects from entering.

Iron knives and unclean grilling pans were in use, and some food items were found uncovered and unlabelled in the refrigerator. Some vegetables, including mint leaves, were discarded due to spoilage, and certain food items were stored directly on the ground. There was insufficient space between storage racks and the walls.
