Manchu Manoj stages dharna outside Mohan Babu’s residence in Jalpally

Hyderabad: The rift between veteran Telugu actor and former Rajya Sabha member Manchu Mohan Babu and his younger son Manchu Manoj is once again in the news. Tension prevailed outside Mohan Babu’s residence in Jalpally after Manoj sat on a dharna claiming his father was not allowing him to enter the house.

Following his dharna, a large number of police from Pahadishareef police station arrived at the senior actor’s residence to prevent any potential untoward incident.

Earlier, Manchu Manoj filed a complaint with the Narsingi police alleging that his brother Manchu Vishnu stole his car and expensive belongings from his house while he was away in Rajasthan to celebrate the birthday of his daughter. He further alleged that his brother trespassed into his property to steal valuable items from his home.

He claimed that he tried to speak with his father Babu regarding the issue, but he found the gates locked and hence he staged a protest outside the gate of the Jalpally residence.

In February, the Supreme Court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to Mohan Babu in a case related to an attempt to murder on a television journalist in Hyderabad on the night of December 10 last year. The Pahadishareef police booked a criminal case against the senior actor for allegedly assaulting a 35-year-old TV journalist M Ranjith when he had gone to his residence to cover an ongoing dispute between him and his younger son.

The family feud started when Manoj posted a video on Facebook in 2023, alleging that Vishnu barged into his house and beat up two of his close aides. The Vishnu-Manoj relationship has worsened over the years as both Mohan Babu and Manchu Manoj have registered police complaints against each other.
