Manchu Lakshmi appears before CID in betting apps case
HYDERABAD: Actor Manchu Lakshmi appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for questioning in connection with the betting apps promotions case on Tuesday.
CID officials questioned her on transactions linked to the promotion of online betting applications, sources said. This was her second appearance before the CID in the case.
Earlier, Manchu Lakshmi had also appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in the same matter. Prominent actors Prakash Raj, Rana Daggubati and Vijay Deverakonda had previously appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning.
In the same case, actor Nidhhi Agerwal, television anchor Sreemukhi and actor Amrutha Chowdary had earlier appeared before CID officials and submitted their explanations.
Officials had questioned them about why they promoted betting apps, the payments they received, and the agreements entered into with the app operators, sources said.
