Over 100 Applications Pay Off Man Wins Three Liquor Shops In Sangareddy

HYDERABAD: In an unusual stroke of luck, a man who submitted over 100 applications for liquor shop licences in the district managed to secure three outlets during the draw of lots held at the Sangareddy Collectorate on Monday.

According to officials, the applicant, K. Vamsidhar Reddy, had filed the applications along with his friends Harish and Murali. All three had jointly submitted more than 100 forms for consideration under the excise department’s tender process.

Three shops allotted in Patancheru area under one name

Interestingly, all three shops that emerged successful in the draw were registered under Vamsidhar Reddy’s name, even though the applications were made jointly. The licences are for outlets located in the Patancheru area.

The draw was part of the state excise department’s annual allotment process for liquor shops across the district. Each successful applicant is entitled to operate a shop for the fixed licence period as per excise norms.

Officials said the entire process was conducted transparently in the presence of excise authorities and district administration representatives.
