Man Found Dead With Genital Mutilation in Chandanagar

Lingampally : In a horrifying incident that has sent ripples in Chandanagar, a 36-year-old man was found dead with his penis cut off on Tuesday late night. Chandanagar police of Cyberabad commissionerate booked a case and started investigation.

The deceased, identified as Tanniru Maladri, a centering worker hailing from Darakanipadu village in Nellore District,migrated to the city about 6 years ago for a better livelihood.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s cousin, Thanniru Srinivasa Rao, he received a distressing phone call around 9 PM on Tuesday. Upon arriving at the scene, the complainant found his brother lying on the bed with blood stains on his lungi and saw that his penis was cut off and there was heavy bleeding.

Case registered in Chandanagar

On September 30, 2024, Maladri’s wife and two sons went to their native village for a relative’s marriage. Later, the complainant came to know when Maladri’s sister, who lives in the neighborhood, came to the house on Tuesday at about 8 in the morning and spoke to Maladri. When she returned in the evening and found the door closed, she assumed he was sleeping and left, said Chandanagar police.

“As Maladri was not taking the calls, finding something fishy, his sister came and called him, but Maladri didn’t open the door. She pushed it open and found him lying on the bed and bloodstained. Immediately, she shouted, neighbours came and called 108 ambulances. The ambulance came, checked, and declared Maladri dead,” said the complainant. Based on the complaint, Chandanagar Police of Cyberabad commissionerate registered a case and launched an investigation.
