Man finds lizard in noodles at Secunderabad fast food center

Secunderabad: In a shocking incident, a man discovered a lizard in his noodles while dining at Ganesh Fast Food and Biryani Point, located at Bapuji Nagar Cross Road in Parsigutta, Secunderabad.

After placing his order, the man began to eat, only to be horrified upon finding the lizard on his plate. He immediately confronted the management but received a dismissive response.

In light of the incident, the man lodged a formal complaint with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), citing the management’s careless attitude.

Following this, the GHMC conducted inspections and filed a case under the HMC Act. The manager of the establishment has since been sent to the trial court.

This incident is part of a troubling trend of food safety violations in Hyderabad. Earlier, a couple discovered a burnt cockroach in their masala dosa at Sri Raghavendra Hotel, located under the Ferozguda Municipal Corporation Warangal Highway Main Road Pillar No. 106, on August 23, 2024.

On August 2, customers at the Meridian restaurant in Punjagutta found cockroaches in chicken and mutton dishes. Srikhande Umesh Kumar took to ‘X,’ formerly known as Twitter, to highlight the issue. He tagged the Commissioner of Food Safety, the Assistant Food Controller from GHMC, and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), stating, “Despite multiple inspections, hygiene standards at local eateries remain a concern. Cockroaches were observed at Meridian restaurant, Punjagutta. Urging authorities @fssaiindia to take immediate action.”

Another recent incident involved Bahar Cafe in KPHB Phase 3, where customers reported rats roaming freely and consuming leftovers. Manish, @WoMotaWalaLadka, also took to ‘X,’ urging immediate intervention by tagging relevant authorities. His post stated, “Urgent action needed at Bahar Cafe! Hygiene is non-existent, with rats freely roaming tables, terrible food quality, and arrogant owners ignoring complaints. Please investigate ASAP!”

Additionally, on June 29, a customer found a safety pin in biryani from Mehfil Restaurant in Manikonda. This incident followed a previous complaint about bugs in biryani from Mehfil’s Kukatpally branch.
