Hyderabad: A man reportedly ended his life after falling under a moving truck in Medchal police station limits on Sunday night.

Initial investigations suggested the incident was an accident. However, after reviewing CCTV footage, police confirmed that the man had intentionally fallen under the lorry. The identity of the deceased is still being determined. An investigation is underway.

This incident follows a similar tragedy earlier this month. On January 9, a woman, identified as Satya Lavanya (32), died after jumping from the fourth floor of MN Residency in Bachupally.

Lavanya, a native of Pithapuram in Andhra Pradesh, worked as an Assistant Manager at the Bank of India’s Rajeev Gandhi Nagar branch. She had recently moved to Bachupally with her family and was married to Bathula Veeramohan, an IT professional, for five years.

The incident occurred in the afternoon, when neighbors heard a loud noise and immediately alerted authorities. Despite initial hesitation to assist, residents from adjacent apartments stepped in and helped transport Lavanya to the hospital, where she was declared dead. Police investigations suggest the cause may be related to personal and work-related stress, though further inquiries are ongoing.

In another tragic incident, on December 12, 2024, a 29-year-old software engineer, M. Venkata Naga Laxmi, died from poisoning at her rented residence in Miyapur. Laxmi, from Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, had been married for five months to Manoj Manikanta, a construction contractor.

Following an argument with her husband, Laxmi consumed poison that she had ordered online. She was rushed to a private hospital but died the next day. Police have opened an investigation based on allegations of marital harassment.
