Hyderabad: Jagadgirigutta police have arrested an individual for stealing gold ornaments from his relative’s house. The stolen property, valued at ₹7 Lakhs, includes 12.7 Thulas of gold.
The accused has been identified as Nadgotti Bharath (23), a resident of Jagadgirigutta and a native of Janagama, Warangal District. The case was registered at the Jagadgirigutta Police Station in Cyberabad.
The complainant, Jangam Paramesh, a self-employed resident of West Sai Nagar, Allwyn Colony, Kukatpally, Jagadgirigutta PS Limits, reported the theft.
According to his statement, on December 15, 2024, he locked his house at 2:00 p.m. and left for Janagama, Warangal, with his family to attend his grandmother’s first death anniversary. When he returned on December 18, 2024, at around 12:00 p.m., he discovered that the window glass had been broken. Upon entering the house, he found the almirah lock and locker in his bedroom had been forced open, and the gold ornaments were missing.
The police investigation revealed that the accused, a distant relative of the complainant, broke the glass of a PVC window with a stone, entered the house, and stole the gold ornaments after breaking the almirah locker.
Orphaned at a young age, Bharath completed his education up to 10th grade in an orphanage. He later stayed with relatives and worked in hair salons. However, his lack of proper guidance led to a troubled lifestyle marked by addiction to smoking and alcohol. To fund his habits, Bharath resorted to committing burglaries. He had been arrested twice before, in 2020 by Medipally Police and in 2022 by Charminar Police, for similar offenses. Despite his previous jail time, he continued to commit property crimes after his release.
