Pahadisharif: Residents of Mamidipally have complained that unchecked dumping of garbage and animal carcasses along the Pahadisharif,Mamidipally main road is causing severe foul smell and health concerns.

Garbage piled along road, set on fire by staff

Locals from Ranganayakula Colony said sanitation workers were leaving accumulated waste along the roadside and burning it instead of clearing it. They added that large empty stretches on both sides of the road had turned into open dumping yards.

Foul smell triggers health worries

Residents said dead animals were also being dumped on the same stretch, causing constant stench. “The smell is unbearable and we fear respiratory infections,” a local resident told reporters.

Residents allege neglect by corporation

People complained that despite repeated complaints to ward staff, no action was taken. They alleged that the Badangpet Municipal Corporation, located nearly 10 km away, was giving priority to “other tasks” and not responding to issues faced by Mamidipally residents.

Locals seek senior officials’ visit

Residents urged senior corporation officials to inspect Mamidipally and address garbage dumping and burning, and to prevent carcass disposal along the Pahadisharif–Mamidipally route.
