HYDERABAD: Congress MP Mallu Ravi has sought registration of a criminal case against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao over remarks he allegedly made against Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

In a representation dated September 9, 2026, addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad Commissionerate, Ravi sought immediate and appropriate legal action against Rama Rao.

Ravi said Rama Rao, while addressing the media, referred to Revanth Reddy as “CM Revanth Reddy chillar na koduku.”

The MP said the expression was a derogatory and demeaning reference to the chief minister and was beyond the limits of political criticism.

Ravi said the remark was not directed at any government policy, decision or political action but was a personal attack on the reputation and dignity of the chief minister.

Ravi is the Lok Sabha member from Nagarkurnool. The Digital Sansad lists him as a sitting Congress MP from Nagarkurnool (SC) constituency.

Revanth Reddy is the chief minister of Telangana, according to the state government’s official portal. K T Rama Rao continues to be identified as the BRS working president in recent reports.
