Former Maoist Mallojula Venugopala Alias Sonu returns to Peddapalli
TELANGANA: After a gap of 45 years, Maoist central committee member Mallojula Venugopala alias Sonu returned to his native town on Sunday.
He arrived at his residence in the Peddapalli district headquarters along with his wife, Tara.
Emotional reunion after decades
His brother Anjaiah and other family members received him and enquired about his wellbeing. The reunion marked his first visit to the family home since he left in 1980.
He had left his hometown and family in 1980 to join the Maoist movement. During his journey in the organisation, he rose through the ranks to become a central committee member.
Return draws attention in district
He recently surrendered. His visit to his native place after a prolonged gap has become a topic of discussion in the Peddapalli district headquarters.
