Mallapur girl falls ill after eating worm-infested dry fruits
HYDERABAD: A girl reportedly fell ill after consuming dry fruits allegedly containing worms in Mallapur under Nacharam limits, raising concerns over food safety violations in the city.
According to the family, Bharat, a resident of Mallapur in Nacharam, purchased a packet of dry fruits from a local shop and brought it home. His daughter consumed the dry fruits and soon developed health complications.
Family finds worms inside dry fruit packet
Bharat later checked the packet and allegedly found worms inside the product. He approached the shop owner and questioned him over the sale of the spoiled stock.
The victim alleged that the shop owner refused to take back the product and threatened him when confronted.
Victim seeks action against food safety officials
Bharat recorded a video and posted it on social media, alleging that expired and contaminated food items were being sold openly in the area. He urged Food Safety Department officials to take action against traders selling spoiled products and allegedly intimidating customers who raise complaints.
