Malkajgiri Police Announce Bonalu Restrictions

HYDERABAD: Ahead of Bonalu 2026, Malkajgiri Police conducted a coordination meeting with Bonalu organisers within the Uppal police station limits to ensure the peaceful and smooth conduct of the festival.
Police advised organisers to celebrate Bonalu responsibly and in coordination with law enforcement. They stressed the need for maintaining public order and ensuring that all festivities are conducted without any untoward incidents.
Public advisory issued for Bonalu
Malkajgiri Police also issued a public advisory announcing the temporary closure of wine shops, toddy shops and bars attached to restaurants on the occasion of the Sree Ujjaini Mahankali Jathara (Bonalu).
The closure will remain in force from 06.00 IST on August 2, 2026, to 06.00 IST on August 4, 2026.
Restrictions in Market and Gopalapuram limits
The restrictions will apply within the Market and Gopalapuram police station limits in the Malkajgiri Zone.
Police appealed to citizens to cooperate in maintaining peace, public order and communal harmony to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Bonalu festivities. They urged devotees to celebrate the festival with safety, harmony and devotion.
