Malkajgiri police shut liquor outlets for Sri Rama Navami

Closed liquor shop in Hyderabad ahead of Jubilee Hills by-election

HYDERABAD:  The Malkajgiri police have ordered the closure of wine shops, toddy shops and bars attached to restaurants from 10 am to 10 pm on March 26, on account of Sri Ramanavami.

The restrictions apply across the commissionerate limits. Bars operating in star hotels and registered clubs are exempt from the order.

Closure order issued to maintain public order

Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty issued the directive on Thursday, citing the festival.

The order aims to regulate public activity during the observance of Sri Ramanavami.

Violators to face prosecution under law

The commissioner warned that any person found violating the order will face prosecution.

Police said strict enforcement measures will be in place during the specified hours.
