Malkajgiri Police Arrest Nine in Online Trading Fraud Cheating Professor of 36 Lakh

Police display seized phones and documents in Hyderabad cyber fraud case

HYDERABAD: The Malkajgiri police arrested nine people on Wednesday for allegedly cheating a city-based professor of ₹36.35 lakh in an online trading scam.

The accused promised high returns and lured the victim into stock market investments. When he realized the fraud, he filed a complaint.

The arrested include K Revanth Kumar, Ketha Vidya Charan, Kolanti Shiva Varma, Pavan, M Shiva, K Chandra Sekhar, M Karthikeya Varma, and N Shiva.

Police traced the gang to West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh and arrested them after investigating the complaint.

Officers seized a laptop, three routers, 45 mobile phones, 25 cheque books, 40 ATM cards, 20 SIM cards, and multiple ID documents.

Investigators said the group ran an organized cyber fraud network. They targeted individuals by promising high stock market returns.

Police continue to probe the case. They aim to identify more victims and uncover links to other frauds.
