Nizamabad’s Malavath Poorna scales Mount Elbrus
NIZAMABAD: Malavath Poorna, the mountaineer from Pakala village in Sirkonda mandal of Nizamabad district, has once again scaled Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe.
Indian team reaches summit despite harsh weather
Poorna, who became the youngest girl to summit Mount Everest, served as the expedition leader of the team organised by Transcend Adventures. Under her leadership, the Indian team reached the summit of Mount Elbrus at 9 am (Russia time) on July 18.
Mount Elbrus, located in Russia’s Caucasus mountain range, is not only the highest peak in Europe but also one of the world’s renowned Seven Summits. The expedition was completed despite severe cold and strong winds, which are among the mountain’s biggest challenges.
