Malakpet Residents Demand road repairs

Hyderabad: A newly constructed road in front of Nawab Shah Alam Khan College of Engineering at New Malakpet, in Hyderabad has been dug up, causing inconvenience to residents. The road, which was opened to traffic just a week ago, is now in a dilapidated state.

Local resident Mohd Abdul Sattar @SattarFarooqui has expressed his frustration over the issue, tagging the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Vijayalaxmi Gadwal, the GHMC commissioner, and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on social media platform ‘X,’ previously known as Twitter.

Mohd Abdul Sattar highlighted the need for better coordination between different GHMC departments and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). He urged the authorities to restore the road to its original condition.

In response, the GHMC has assured that the area engineering team has been informed and will inspect the issue. The civic body has also alerted officials in Malakpet to address the problem.

Residents are eagerly awaiting action from the GHMC to rectify the situation and restore the newly constructed road.

MLA announces road widening plans for Karwan Constituency

In a separate development, MLA Kausar Mohiuddin has announced plans to widen several roads in the Karwan constituency to alleviate traffic congestion. The proposed initiatives include:

• Widening the road from Tolichowki crossroads to Hakeempet Salar bridge, with the removal of encroached huts.

• Improving the Limra Hotel junction and widening the road to MLA Colony, Banjara Hills.

• Creating an 18-foot-wide road from MD Lines to Andhra Floor Mills via Military Area.

• Constructing a flyover from Tolichowki to Moti Darwaza Golkonda via Mohammedia Lines.

• Widening the road from Arbaab Hotel to 7 Tombs T junction.

• Improving the Tappachabutra main road.

The MLA Kausar Mohiuddin has informed AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi and floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi about these plans.
