Mahabubabad woman plots husband’s murder for home loan waiver

MAHABUBABAD: A woman allegedly conspired with her lover and an unqualified medical practitioner to murder her husband, driven by the motive of eliminating an obstacle to an extramarital relationship and securing a home loan waiver after his death, police said.
Murder planned as road accident
The incident occurred at Bodamancha Thanda in Kesamudram mandal of Mahabubabad district. Police identified the accused as Vijaya, her lover Boda Balaji, and Dharmarapu Bharat, an RMP practitioner.
Vijaya was in an extramarital relationship with Balaji, a resident of the same thanda. Her husband, Bhukya Veeranna, had been facing financial difficulties. He had sold agricultural land to repay part of his debts, but liabilities remained.
Loan taken, crime executed
Police said Balaji and Bharat helped Veeranna secure a home loan from Muthoot Finance. After learning that the loan would be waived in case of accidental death, the accused allegedly planned to murder Veeranna and stage it as a road accident.
As per the plan, on the night of December 22, Bharat and Balaji called Veeranna to a palm oil plantation on the outskirts of the thanda under the pretext of consuming alcohol. While drinking together, Balaji allegedly struck Veeranna on the back of the head with an iron rod. Bharat then allegedly suffocated him by covering his nose and mouth with a towel, killing him.
After confirming his death, the accused allegedly dumped the body along with a motorcycle on the roadside leading towards Beeruvada village, in a field belonging to a person named Dinesh, to make it appear as a road accident.
Police said they cracked the case within 24 hours of the incident.
