Mahabubabad man dies after choking on mutton piece

MAHABUBABAD: A man died after a piece of mutton got stuck in his throat while he was eating in Pilligundla Thanda of Mahabubabad district.

Banoth Bichchaiah was having a meal at his residence when the incident occurred. He suddenly developed breathing difficulty after the meat became lodged in his throat and collapsed shortly after.

Family members noticed his condition and rushed him to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Local residents said the incident caused panic in the hamlet, highlighting the risks of choking while eating. Medical experts said immediate first aid, such as the Heimlich manoeuvre, can help prevent such deaths if administered in time.
