Madhira cold storage fire spreads to second chamber
KHAMMAM: A fire at a cold storage facility in Atkur village of Madhira mandal continues to rage, with flames now spreading to a second chamber.
Fire personnel are making efforts to bring the blaze under control. The Sai Balaji Cold Storage has two chambers. Initially, the fire broke out in one chamber and later spread to the second.
Farmers expressed concern that the entire stock of chilli stored at the facility could be destroyed.
Firefighting intensified with additional support deployed
The incident occurred on Saturday, and the fire has not yet been contained. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka spoke to senior officials of the state fire services department and arranged for sky fire engines to assist in operations.
Fire personnel are continuing efforts to douse the flames.
