Madhapur residents threaten suicide, as HYDRAA continues demolitions

Madhapur: As the encroachment removal drive continues by the HYDRAA, the residents in the Madhapur area have threatened the officials that they would die by suicide, if their houses are demolished. HYDRAA was removing alleged encroachments and illegal structures built on the Full Tank Limits (FTL) and buffer zones of various lakes in the Hyderabad city. On Sunday, apart from Madhapur, the HYDRAA launched a series of demolitions which are continuing on Dundigal and Ameenpur areas as well.
In visuals circulating on social media, it can be seen that an elderly lady and middle aged person were seen threatening the officials and questioning them on the ongoing saga. The residents were also seen lamenting about the demolitions and cursing the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the ongoing situation.
In Madhapur, HYDRAA launched a demolition drive to protect Sudalavani Kunta also known as Sunnam Cheruvu, Allahpur village, Balanagar mandal. Following several complaints of encroachment into the FTL of Sunnam Cheruvu. The HYDRAA officials inspected the spot and found buildings constructed within the FTL violating the norms. Subsequently, Encroachments in survey numbers 12, 13, 14, and 16, were cleared with the support of local authorities.
From the Sunnam Cheruvu lake encroachment area, a resident was also seen crying as the demolition drive continued. She lamented that the case is in court as of now and questioned why there are courts, if the process is not being respected.
Meanwhile in Mallampet of Dundigal municipality also HYDRAA continued its demolition drive simultaneously. In a major crackdown on illegal villas built in violation of regulations at Mallampet’s Katwa Lake. A major demolition was carried out at a villa belonging to Lakshmi Srinivasa Constructions on Sunday morning, with a significant police force deployed to maintain order.
Simultaneously, HYDRAA began razing unauthorized structures in HMT Colony and Vaninagar, under Ameenpur Municipality in Sangareddy District. The demolitions carried out with the assistance of revenue and municipal officials, are part of HYDRAA’s ongoing campaign to reclaim pond and lake lands from illegal occupiers.
