Madhapur Crash Rider Took Accident Victim To Hospital Police Say

HYDERABAD: Jana Sena Party Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh’s son, Lingamaneni Sanjush, took accident victim Bharati Mukhi to Apollo Hospital after the August 16 crash in Madhapur, Cyberabad police said on Friday, as reported by TOI.

Police said Sanjush later returned home. An investigating officer then went to his residence and brought him to the police station.

The clarification came after videos from the accident scene surfaced. The footage shows Sanjush and bystanders helping the injured 26-year-old woman into a car soon after the crash.

Police have booked Sanjush in connection with the accident.

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Dr M Ramesh said Sanjush drove Mukhi to Apollo Hospital in his car.

“After the accident, the accused took her to Apollo Hospital in his car. He panicked later and went home. Our sub-inspector went to his home and brought him to the police station,” Ramesh said.

Videos show bystanders helping injured woman

Videos recorded at the accident spot and shared days after the crash show the moments following the incident.

A woman believed to be Mukhi’s colleague is seen crying beside her and seeking help. A bystander is heard asking Sanjush to stop the car as people gather around the injured woman.

The footage shows Sanjush approaching Mukhi as bystanders lift her and place her inside the car. Sanjush then drove her to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills.

Doctors at the hospital declared Mukhi dead on arrival.

According to the FIR, Mukhi worked at Lifestyle store in Inorbit Mall. She was crossing the road when the Aston Martin allegedly driven by Sanjush hit her on August 16.

Police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing death through a rash or negligent act.
